“I was diagnosed with AIDS 15 years ago and in 2019 I had a stroke. Since then I started physical therapy and swimming which helped me psychologically. In 2021, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. My family wanted me to go to a nursing home because I was getting worse. Before FP I had to use my cane to walk on the road, feeling totally unsafe. I was a Judo champion in Greece until, at 19, a severe knee injury changed my life. After surgery, I followed my doctor’s instructions and tried multiple physiotherapy methods, but the pain persisted, often reaching 8-9 out of 10 even with basic activities like walking or climbing stairs. Over time, the constant pain and fear led me to quit all physical activity, and for 8 years, I struggled with anxiety and avoided anything that could worsen my injuries. Occasionally I had neck pain 7-8/10. In 2019, I came across Functional Patterns by chance, and it completely transformed my life. Through the FP approach, my pain gradually decreased, and by 2020, I was pain-free for the first time in years. I could move freely, run, and enjoy activities I thought I had lost forever.
